At least 183 law enforcement officers serving more than 500 documented communities within eight contiguous counties of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio have died as a result of their service. The Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society has no greater mission that the commemoration of these fallen brothers and sister and has dedicated itself to that effort.
The Society is a charitable non-profit corporation. It operates the Greater Cincinnati Police Museum where these officers are memorialized and visitors may read and hear of their exploits and those of all law enforcement officers of the more than 100 agencies that have served the region for more than 210 years.
The Museum receives no government assistance; charges no admission fees; and is completely reliant on donations and events such as the Police Memorial Bike Ride. All proceeds from the Bike Ride will be deposited to the Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society's Endowment Fund which was established to assure the Museum's operations well into the future.
